Doctor of Dental Surgery
at Georgetown University
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
In his younger years, Dr. Lewis was mentored by a dentist from his hometown. This experience encouraged him to go into the field himself – and he’s never regretted that decision for a second!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Lewis completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery at Georgetown University in 1981. Following graduation, he served three years as a lieutenant in the Navy at Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base in North Carolina. During this time, he received invaluable hands-on experience in all aspects of dentistry that he otherwise wouldn’t have gotten had he moved immediately into private practice. Following the Navy, he opened his own dental office – and the rest is history! Additionally, he enhances his training with many hours of professional continuing education courses every year. He is currently affiliated with the American Dental Association and the Pennsylvania Dental Association.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Lewis and his wife of nearly 40 years, Barbara, have three wonderful daughters. When he isn’t busy caring for patients, he spends quality time with his family, golfs, goes on hikes to enjoy the flora and fauna of nature, and curls up with a good book.
